Mary Quattlebaum

She is a poet and author, and a writer for the Washington Post and the Washington Parent. Grover G. Graham and Me, and Aunt Ceecee, Aunt Belle, and Mama's Surprise are just a few of her books that have “a winning cast of likable characters.”

Using student examples and poems from her book, A Year on My Street, Quattlebaum gives examples of the basic tools of poetry. Segments include student poetry from Olde Creek Elementary, animated poems for video, and a video of the author taking notes around her city block.
