Murphy

For many students, two words that don't go together are "math" and "fun." But, according to Murphy, math is fun when you use "stories every kid can relate to and enjoy, while helping them understand that math is much more than a school subject—it's all around us and in everything we do!" His MathStart Series has students looking forward to doing math.

Murphy discusses how he developed the story idea for A House for Birdie and shows how he sketches his ideas on paper. Timber Lane Elementary students show how they use Sundae Scoop to learn about combinations.
