Her first novels were for adults. But after Absolutely Normal Chaos was published in 1990, Sharon Creech started writing novels and picture books for young people. Her first book published in America, Walk Two Moons, was a Newbery Medal winner. She has written eight other highly acclaimed novels, including the Newbery Honor Book, The Wanderer, and three picture books.
Creech, who taught literature in an American School in England, writes using memories from her childhood and experiences with her students that leaves "a piece of Sharon Creech in every book she writes."
