High School Curricular Application Season closed April 15, 2009

If you are a parent new to Fairfax County Schools and are requesting a high school curricular transfer after April 15, 2009, please do the following:

Begin the registration process at the base (local) high school for your attendance area. Request a curricular transfer application form and letter of understanding from the local school. Further details are listed below.

Students must be registered at the FCPS base high school before starting the transfer process.
Parents and students should review local curricular options at the base high school.
If the desired program is unavailable at the base high school, parents request the curricular program (AP,IB, foreign language, or academy sequence) at the school location nearest the student’s base school or home address.

Parents complete a high school curricular student transfer form (SS/SE 221) requesting the desired program.

The appropriate Letter of Understanding must be signed by the parent and student.
Submit the application and Letter of Understanding to the base high school principal for review.
The requested school principal notifies the parent or guardian of the transfer decision in writing.

Please note: All transfer requests are considered on a space available basis. Applications submitted without required documentation will be returned.

Please review the following documents before submitting a transfer application:
