Podcasting is one way to use twenty-first century technology to build twenty-first century skills for our students. This school year we're approaching podcasting differently. Each grade level will contribute stories that reflect their curriculum and activities. We have a crew of fifth graders who are recording and editing all podcasts. We'll be adding to our CRESCasts as the year goes along, so check back to see what's new.
All of our podcasts are available as MP3s and are audio files, indicated by this graphic: .
These MP3 files may be downloaded for playback on computers or MP3 players. Right-click and choose "Save Target As" to download.
Some of our podcasts are also available with graphics as a Windows Movie file, indicated by: .
You will need Windows Media Player for those podcasts with graphics..

First of all, what is RSS? RSS formally "RDF Site Summary", is known colloquially as "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to share audio or video content on the web that can be automatically downloaded, ready to sync to a mobile device.
CRESCasts, Colvin Run’s curriculum podcasts, can now be found on iTunes, or any other podcast aggregator such as Google Reader or Bloglines. This means that you can go to the iTunes website, put “CRESCast” or “Colvin Run Elementary” in the Search window and our podcasts will be found. You can download the podcasts directly to any computer, mp3 player or iPod. Then you can play them at work, at home, while you’re working out at the gym! You can subscribe to our podcasts on iTunes or any of the other podcast aggegators like Goggle Reader. If you do, whenever we add new podcasts, the additions will be automatically downloaded. Want to share what’s going on here at Colvin Run with friends and family? They can either go to the Colvin Run website, where the podcasts will continue to be uploaded, or to iTunes. For those of you who are truly geeky, our RSS feed URL is: http://www.fcps.edu/colvinrunes/crescastrss.xml
