• Students, families, and community members are invited to an open house at the new South County Middle School on Tuesday, June 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Details
• SCMS will hold a Jump Start program to help incoming 7th grade students and some 8th grade students new to Fairfax County adjust to middle school in August. Students can register for either session 1 on August 14-15 (session 1) or session 2 on and August 16-17. Sessions will be from 8 to 11 a.m. at SCMS. Jump Start is a summer program supported by the Middle School After-School Program and is a fun way to learn study skills how to be successful at SCMS and make new friends. Registration information will be provided to SCMS feeder elementary schools and posted on the SCMS website the first week of June.
• New Assistant Principals Prepare for Fall Opening of South County Middle School
• South County Middle School will host an open house for the community on Tuesday, June 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. 
• Rising 7th and 8th grade students will be visiting the school as a field trip with their classmates in late May and early June.
• The school colors are GREEN, BLUE, & BURGUNDY.
• Rising 7th and 8th grade students are currently in the process of choosing the mascot.  The choices are: Broncos, Colts, and Mustangs

• Principal Marsha Manning has announced the appointment of two assistant principals for the new middle school: Heather Bousman from South County Secondary School and Gordon Stokes from Luther Jackson Middle School. Both will start on Monday, April 9.
