Teacher Says: Getting to Know Lisa Weckstein, First-Year Kindergarten Teacher at Rose Hill Elementary

Lisa Weckstein is a first-year kindergarten teacher at Rose Hill Elementary. She graduated from Langley High School in 2007, and then attended James Madison University where her concentrations were in early childhood education and math and science. As the new school year gets ready to begin, My FCPS - Family talked with Weckstein to learn about her path to becoming a teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools. (more)

New State EpiPen Law Takes Effect This Fall

Epinephrine auto-injectors, also known as EpiPens®, will be in all Fairfax County Public Schools when school begins, as required by legislation passed earlier this year by the Virginia General Assembly. (more)

BYOD—Year 2 in Fairfax County Public Schools

Last year, FCPS developed a framework for embracing and managing the use of personally owned computing devices within the school system. This framework quickly became known as BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and parents are once again encouraged to allow their students to register and bring their personally owned devices to school for authorized instructional use.
