  • Please register for any of the following workshops, except where noted otherwise, by calling the Parent Resource Center at 703-204-3941 or registering online.
  • Accommodations and interpreters are available for workshops. Please let us know two weeks in advance if you need any of these services.

Note: When schools are closed, or if we have a late opening or early closing due to inclement weather, our workshops are cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date for selected workshops.

Lose the Training Wheels After-School Bike Program

Lose the Training Wheels teaches children with disabilities to ride two-wheel bikes and become lifelong riders! Adapted bikes, a specialized instructional program and trained staff run the weeklong program at selected FCPS Middle Schools. Dates available through June 2012.

Summer Sensations! Free Technology Resources to Use at Home!

Come learn easy, fun and free technology tools that you can teach your child! Take home a free CD of resources to use all summer long with children of all ages! Presented by The Office of Special Education Instruction, Assistive Technology Services.

 

Life Planning Tools: Proactive Steps on the Path to Independence

Join us for a day of critical workshops designed to give parents of children with disabilities an understanding of severall important programs available to them as they plan for the future of their loved ones. Topics include SSI & SSDI, Virginia's Medicaid Waiver System and Special Needs Trusts.

Tips, tricks and solutions to make homework during the 2012-2013 school year stress-free! Refreshments, book sales & door prizes!
