Main Services

Parent Liaison Program Coordination

Regularly scheduled training is coordinated and conducted by Family and School Partnerships staff members. Individual orientations for new liaisons and their supervising administrators are conducted at their school site.

Community Liaisons

Bilingual staff members provide information and resources to link new FCPS families to school, community, and county resources

Parent Information Line

Call-in phone line in English, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese for families to request information and resources about FCPS.

Parent Workshops

A variety of parenting and school-related workshops offered in English and other languages for families.

Parent Centers

Assistance provided to schools for creating and maintaining on-site parent centers that provide resources and services to foster and support home-school communication.

Reunification of Immigrant Families

Information and assistance provided to school social workers and counselors to support families with children in FCPS who have been separated and are in the process of reunification, or coming together.

Volunteer Program Support

Resources, workshops, information, and assistance provided to support school-based volunteer programs.

Welcoming Atmosphere Walk-Through

Self assessment process for examining how inviting a school is to parents and visitors.

Multicultural Programs

Panels and programs for school staff members to explore cultural values and practices that affect families and student achievement.

Supplemental Services

PTA/PTSA/PTO Support

Family and School Partnerships works with local school PTA/PTSA/PTO organizations and the Fairfax County Council of PTAs to develop and implement parent programs that meet school needs.

MBTI® Workshops

Qualified Myers-Briggs trainers administer and score the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) and conduct fee-based workshops for school staff, parents, and students.

Family and School Partnerships Library

Small collection of books, handouts, and videos on a variety of parenting and school-related topics available to professionals in different languages.

Child Care for FCPS Functions

Fee-based child care services provided by experienced child care personnel to supervise children of parents attending school or community programs.
