Services and Programs for Parents and Families

 

Services

 

• Community Liaisons - A service provided by bi-lingual staff providing information and resources linking FCPS families to school, community, and county services.
• Getting to Know Fairfax County Public Schools: A Parent Orientation - An interactive seminar providing information about the school system and the importance of parental involvement in children's educational achievement.
• Kinship Care Support - Services and programs provided by FCPS and local and county agencies to support grandparents and other family members raising children.
• Parent Information Line - Call-in phone line in English, Korean, and Spanish for families to request information and resources about FCPS.

Programs

• Early Literacy Program A free, interactive parent and child program for Arabic, Spanish, and Korean-speaking families with children up to age 5. Video
• Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) A free, home-based school readiness program for eligible families with children ages 3 to 5 years.
• Parenting Classes - A variety of fee-based general parenting and court-approved classes for parents and guardians of infants through teens.
