Communicating with the School Board
If you would like to communicate your views with all School Board members, please direct your email to School Board Members. Please include your magisterial district or home address. The Magisterial District Chart (PDF format) will help you to determine the Board Member who represents the school your child attends. Some Fairfax County schools are served by more than one magisterial district. For further information, please contact Linda Sabo.
To communicate in writing with School Board members, send letters to the clerk of the Board at 8115 Gatehouse Rd., Falls Church, VA 22042. To receive notice of all Board meetings, file a written request with the clerk of the Board. Student Representative to the School Board
A student representative is selected for a one-year term at a nominating convention
conducted in February by the countywide Student Advisory Council. The student serves a one-year term, sits with the Board at all public
meetings, and participates in discussion but does not vote. The student representative
is compensated for attendance and participation in all public meetings not to
exceed $50.00 per day.

The School Board sets general school policy and, within the framework of Virginia Board of Education regulations, establishes guidelines that will ensure the proper administration of the county school program.
Written policies of the Board, as well as administrative regulations and notices, are compiled in Policies, Notices, and Regulations, available for citizen inspection in each school, each cluster office, the Burkholder Administrative Center, the public libraries, and FCPS web site at www.fcps.edu.
Meetings
Regularly scheduled business meetings are held twice each month except August, usually on the second and fourth Thursdays at 7 p.m. at Jackson Middle School, 3020 Gallows Road, Falls Church.These meetings are open to the public and are broadcast live on cable Channel 21.

The school system is divided into eight pyramid clusters, each comprising two to four high schools and their feeder elementary and middle schools. Each pyramid cluster is led by an assistant superintendent.
