Math Math instruction at Woodley Hills takes many forms. Students experience math in the classroom, with specialists, during afterschool events.

Science All students at Woodley Hills learn science both in the classroom and with a specialist each week. A recent HP grant has given us the opportunity to plant a habitat in which we study insects, birds and other animals. ( FCPS )

Social Studies Students learn basic concepts of chronological time, physical and human geography, citizenship education, and economic choices. Using trade books, technology, and maps and globes, students broaden their study of history to include early civilizations, develop map skills, learn the value of rights and responsibilities, and demonstrate enhanced understanding of basic economic concepts. Reading Our teachers and reading specialists work to ensure that each student's reading level is assessed and that appropriate reading goals are set. Biannual book fairs give each student the chance to purchase the perfect book. .........( FCPS ) |

Title I is a federal program that serves schools throughout the United States. The Title I program was reauthorized under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The purpose of this legislation is "to help the neediest schools and students reach the same challenging standards expected of all children." (Public Law 107-110) The Title I program provides extra help to students to assist them in meeting state and local education standards. The program serves millions of children in elementary and secondary schools each year. Most school districts participate.
