Academy Classes

Woodburn Academy for the Fine and Playful Arts offers a variety of teacher sponsored after-school activities that support both our academic and fine arts programs. Classes are scheduled for either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons beginning the first week of second quarter and continuing through the end of third quarter. Late bus transportation is provided. Further information and registration will be available in late September.

Drama Club: Last Year, we were excited to announce that we would be performing the Wizard of Oz as our play! Students in drama Club learned all about acting and performing. They had the opportunity to audition for a part in the play. Last year we performed for the entire school, as well as parents at night

Step Team: The Woodburn Steppers are a group of talented, highly skilled dancers. The Steppers used a mix of hip-hop dance, stomp, and chants to convey positive messages and school spirit. TRYOUTS REQUIRED.

Cartoon Club: Students worked on developing their artistic and creative skills. Students designed their own characters and storylines and created their own comic strip books. They also learned the basic animation aspect of cartooning.

Buddy Club: This invitatiion only group works closely with staff members from the department of accountability.

Homework Club: Open to all students. Students had an opportunity to work on homework afterschool, with close faculty support.

Wildcat Jump Rope Club: Students learned various jump rope rhymes to incorporate into their learning of single and double rope skills.
