Cafeteria - Food Services
School lunches are served daily. The cost can be found online. White milk is served with each lunch or may be purchased separately. If your child has a milk allergy, a doctor's note is required each year to substitute juice for milk with their lunch. Snack items may also be purchased by children but limited to two snacks per child. Costs for ala carte lunches and snack items can be found online.
When students forget to bring a lunch or do not have adequate funds available on their lunch account, the cafeteria will provide a basic lunch of cereal and milk (courtesy of the PTA) and will be given a reminder to return the cost of lunch the following day. The PTA generously provides this support and WSES families have been very responsive in returning borrowed monies to the PTA lunch account.
Our daily snack schedule is as follows:
- Monday - Ice Cream
- Tuesday - Popcorn
- Wednesday - Ice Cream
- Thursday - Cookie
- Friday - Manager's Choice
A computerized cash register in our school cafeteria enables a student to have a personalized account with an I.D. number to use for meals, ala carte, and snack purchases.
We recommend that all parents maintain a $10.00 balance on their child's lunch money account in case of emergencies or a forgotten lunch box.
There are several ways to add money to your child's account.
- Parents are encouraged to use www.mylunchmoney.com (link can also be found near the top of our home page) to maintain their child's lunch money account. Please note that our cafeteria staff does not have access to how much or when money is applied to your child's account. To avoid reminder phone calls from our cafeteria staff, please maintain a minimum balance of $10.00.
- If a parent prefers to pay by check, please make the check payable to Willow Springs and sent to the cafeteria on any morning (preferably Monday morning) in order to have the money applied to your child's account. Make sure that your prepayment check and/or envelope has your child's name and pin number legibly written on it .
- If prepaying with cash, please attach the following form to the cash. Again, your child's name and pin number are crucial for accurate accounting of his/her money.
- Students may also pay cash on a daily basis. These payments can be collected at lunch time and do not require prepayment.
Menus are sent home monthly to assist parents and students in planning. They are also accessible on our home page under FCPS Lunch Menus.
Applications for free or reduced-price lunches are available at the school. All requests remain confidential.
For students bringing their lunch from home, parents need to remember to pack all necessary utensils (napkins, forks, spoons, NO knives) and condiments. FCPS does not supply these items for a home-packed lunch.
Lastly, it is our hope that parents review cafeteria etiquette with their child. Please emphasize our no running policy, the use of indoor voices, no sharing of food, and above all using manners and politeness with other students, our food service employees, and school staff.
