Read for fun

The White Oaks Library offers books and magazines that will provide hours of reading pleasure. As students have fun reading, they will learn valuable language arts skills and their knowledge in all subject areas will be enhanced.

We offer many traditional and newly published picture storybooks which we refer to as EVERYBODY books. Our FICTION collection contains fantasy, humorous, realistic, science and historical fiction.

Children's magazines continue to be popular reading materials, so much so that for the most requested magazines, duplicate subscriptions have been ordered.

Research a topic

Various resources are available for conducting research.

Reference books include:

Sets of encyclopedias
Single volume encyclopedias
Almanacs
Atlases
Timelines

Non-fiction books cover curriculum topics such as language arts, social studies, science, math, music, art and physical education.
Students may also use the Internet to research an assigned topic. All computers use Internet filtering software to help safeguard students as they use the web.
