Here we are at the end of another school year! How quickly the time has passed! Thank you students and parents for all your contributions in making this another terrific school year!
Many of you attended our end of year activities. The spring concert charmed us, the student recognition assembly acknowledged student accomplishments, and our kindergarten and fifth grade promotion ceremonies filled our hearts with tears and joy. Weyanoke’s teachers have done an incredible job preparing students for their next grade. You will receive information on your student’s teacher for next year by late August.
Students need to continue reading throughout the summer. Visit our local library to check out some of their wonderful books. We wish you all a restful summer break and look forward to seeing you and your students in September.

Please mark your calendars for our annual Meet and Greet on Thursday, August 28th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. As well as meeting your students’ teachers, you will be able to meet with our cafeteria manager and make lunch arrangements, join the Weyanoke Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and order school spirit wear and yearbooks.

PTA WEYANOTES
Wow, how quickly time has gone by. It is already the end of the school year and our children are ready for summer. The PTA is over 200 members strong this year and I hope more of you join next year. Membership dues will be increased from $5.00 to $7.00 next year, but that will include a student directory.
Thanks to you the PTA has been able to help our children in many ways. Over $3,000 worth of books were donated to our children’s classrooms from the Fall Book Fair. As a result of the Fall Fundraiser and other fundraisers, we were able to sponsor field trips, educational assemblies, the fifth grade party, and Honor Roll Awards. As you may have noticed, the grounds have been taken care of and additional flowers, bushes, and a tree have been added to the landscape.
The enrollment at Weyanoke has increased from 525 at the beginning of the year to 560 at the end of the year. We are a growing community! We hope every family gets involved next year by contributing two hours per year at one of the many activities planned for next year. I thank those who got involved this year. We could not have done as much without you.
