2016-17 Kindergarten Orientation and Registration Will your child be five years old by September 30? If so, contact Westlawn to make arrangements for kindergarten enrollment. Forms and other information about registration are available online. Please note that most kindergarten orientations are usually scheduled between mid-March and the end of June. Check the school's web page or contact the school directly for specific information about kindergarten in 2016-17. More information about kindergarten is available online.

Standards of Learning (SOL) … Westlawn students in grades 3 – 6 will take the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) Tests from May 16 through June 6 with an extended test window for expedited retakes until June 17.  Please avoid appointments which take your child out of school during this time period.  It will help your child to perform at his or her best if he or she has had a good night’s rest, a healthy breakfast, and comes to school with a positive attitude.

ANNUAL FLYER DISTRIBUTION FOR NON-PROFITS In accordance with Regulation 1367, Westlawn Elementary School designates three Wednesdays for distribution of flyers and related information from nonprofit organizations. The dates for the 2015 - 2016 School Year will be September 3, September 25 and May 21. Flyers need to be delivered one week in advance and have this phrase printed at the bottom: "These materials are neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Fairfax County School Board, the Superintendent, or this school." In the event of a shortage, we will not make copies of fliers. Please contact Jessica Velasquez for more information.
