Book Your Summer

Book Your Summer is a summer reading incentive program for all K-12 students in Fairfax County Public Schools. The program runs from June 27 – September 7, 2016. The purpose of the program is to encourage students to take time to read for fun and build a community of readers. Students are encouraged to read books of their choice throughout the summer and keep track of what they are reading. Students successfully participate if they complete the Bingo style READ! Card and submit it online to by September 7, 2016. Students without Internet access may bring a paper copy to school by September 7, 2016. Students may submit more than one entry; however, every participant has an equal chance at a prize. Prizes include $50 in books and a laptop computer. A student at each grade level will be randomly selected to receive $50 in books and a single student at each school will be randomly selected to receive a laptop. ANNUAL FLYER DISTRIBUTION FOR NON-PROFITS In accordance with Regulation 1367, Westlawn Elementary School designates three Wednesdays for distribution of flyers and related information from nonprofit organizations. The dates for the 2015 - 2016 School Year will be September 3, September 25 and May 21. Flyers need to be delivered one week in advance and have this phrase printed at the bottom: "These materials are neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Fairfax County School Board, the Superintendent, or this school." In the event of a shortage, we will not make copies of fliers. Please contact Jessica Velasquez for more information.
