Staff Kudos

* Kudos to Ms. Schmidli for a beautiful and flourishing garden outside of her window. Last year Ms. Schmidli, wrote a grant and received funds to build a garden for the teachers in grades K-2 to use. The students in each class planted vegetables or flowers last spring, and now they are flourishing. We have been enjoying fresh cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, and pumpkins all summer. There are even tall sunflowers, and active bird feeders for all to enjoy. Thanks Ms. S for sharing your green thumb and love of science with us all!

* Congratulations to our school finance secretary Mrs. Wilson, for receiving a near perfect score on our financial audit for the 2007-2008 school year. Mrs. Wilson works hard to ensure that we always have the supplies and materials we need for a successful school year. Way to go Mrs. Wilson!

* Congratulations to Mr. Autrey, Mrs. Vance, & Ms. Schmidli for a job well done, teaching summer school this year. The students were engaged in literacy activities that will give them a head start for the upcoming school year. We appreciate you!

*Mrs. Thiele & Ms. Gravely, attended a hands-on workshop at the Smithsonian's National Building Museum this summer. They each learned about making social studies "come alive," and received a digital camera for use in their classroom.
