This year the
Westfield Foreign Language Department held its First Annual Foreign
Language Holiday Celebration on Friday, December 21. For each block,
students sang (or signed) a holiday song for the group, then the
audience sang along. After each group "sang for their supper,"
that group went to the back of the room and snacked on the various
treats brought by students. (We were lucky enough to have several
home-made flan deserts!) When students needed a break from singing,
the Latino dance club students had students come up and practice
some new moves. The students enjoyed the interaction so much, that
we're already planning our second annual celebration!
