M.Ed George Mason University
Mrs. Blunt enjoys teaching school and also teaching aerobics. She loves to go out on her boat with her family.

Meg Clark 1-2
B.S. from West Virginia University and M. S., as a reading specialist, from Virginia Tech.
She enjoys gardening and movies. She especially enjoys seeing her students at the pool and around the neighborhood.

Mrs. Jay enjoys spending time with her two sons. In her free time she enjoys reading and watching baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mary Kasprzyk
Mrs. Kasprzyk, known as “Mrs. K”, has been at Waynewood since 2005.B.A. St. Bonaventure University, Olean, NY
M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading emphasis, George Mason University
Husband, Brian, and two boys: Colin, born 2/06; and Kyle, born 3/08.
She also loves to relax in the sun and to cheer on the Yankees and her Buffalo Bills!

B. A., Old Dominion University.
Graduate Studies at Catholic University and University of Virginia.
She enjoys spending time with her family and loves teaching children.

Heidi Mauldin Kindergarten
BS, Psychology, VCU
MT, Early Childhood Education, VCU
Before joining Waynewood, Ms. Mauldin spent two years at Groveton Elementary School as a kindergarten teacher. She has also spent four years teaching kindergarten in Washington DC public schools. Ms. Mauldin enjoys spending time with her three "children" - two cats and a ferret - as well as her niece and nephew. |

Janet Nicholson Smith
B.A., Education, Glassboro State College (now Rowan University), 1977.
Graduate work at Rutgers University and Hampton University.
Married Kevin Hopkins Smith in June 1981
Son, Dustin, William & Mary (Class of 2009) and 2009 Fulbright Scholarship Recipient
Daughter, Laura, majoring in Education at James Madison University Class of 2011.
Mrs. Smith enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, and wearing crazy socks!

Melissa Sullivan
B.A., Elementary Education, Simpson College, 1993
M.A., Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in reading, Virginia Tech 2002
Mrs. Sullivan taught kindergarten in Iowa from 1993-95; and kindergarten and first grade at Woodlawn Elementary School in Fairfax County from 1996-2000. After nine years at home with her own children, she joined the Waynewood staff in 2009.
Mrs. Sullivan enjoys spending time with her family, reading good books and traveling. |

Ms. Treger enjoys swimming, reading, going to the beach and cheering on the Redskins. Her favorite pastime is spending time with friends and family.

Christine Engleman
Masters n Education from ODU
Mrs. Engleman is married with two children: a daughter (West Potomac Class of 2010) and a son, born November 1996. She has been working at Waynewood since 2002. Mrs. Engleman loves baseball but especially the St. Louis Cardinals!

Susan A. Whitton
Education:
M.Ed. George Mason University, Library Science: University of VirginiaMrs. Whitton has two daughters who both graduated from college and are working in Washington, DC. She has been married for over 30 years.
She loves spending time with her family and dog, taking classes, reading, and cooking. In addition, Mrs. Whitton admits that she has a sweet tooth. |

Betty Wightman Second Grade
Mrs. Wightman has taught second grade at Waynewood since 2003. She was known as “Ms. Allen” from 2003 until 2009, at which time she married and changed her name.
B.S. in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies, James Madison University, 2003. M.A. Reading, University of Virginia, 2007.
Mrs. Wightman and her husband adopted a red miniature poodle in July 2009. She enjoys hiking, reading, walking her dog, learning new things, and exploring the many attractions of DC and Northern Virginia!
