PTA – News

Upcoming events:

• 1 –September 16 First PTA meeting - 7pm Library - Do you know about “Responsive Classroom?” Will we have it in our school come see what it is all about! Baby sitting will be provided in the PE room.
• 2 – Lavender's Fall fundraiser has been sent home. Please return money and order form by Monday, September 22.
• 3 – October 2 Fall Family Picnic – 6:30 – 8pm
• The PTA is looking for a family/business to sponsor a moon bounce for the picnic. Please contact Joan Dobson at jdobson123@yahoo.com or 703/780-3410 if you can help.
• 4 – A new 2008 – 09 student directory will be published this year. Please be sure to fill out and return the info sheet so that your family will be included in this new edition. The PTA is looking for an inexpensive, cost-effective way to publish the new directory. Suggestion, ideas or leads would be greatly appreciated.
• 5 - October 6 – Back to school night - 6:30-8:00pm
• 6 – October 21 – PTA Meeting – 7-8pm Library – Learn about the Gifted and Talented program now at our school (GT). Baby sitting will be provided in the PE room.
• 7- October 23 – Dinner out – sponsored by ROY ROGERS

Also, this year, every other Tuesday will be our “Domino's Dough Raising” night. Be sure to look for the Domino's Proof of Purchase form in your child's backpack or you can pick one up in the WMES lobby - or print out the attached file

Dear WMES Parents,

Our annual Fall Family Picnic is on October 2nd from 6:30 – 8pm. We are looking for volunteers for this event.  All parents, relatives, and former WM students are welcome to help. I will be sending home flyers this week to all students in the Thursday folders.
Please consider helping in one or more of the following activities:

• set-up
• clean-up
  food service
• tickets
• activities and games
• bounce house
• sack race
• make a scare crow station,
• face painting
• help with caramel apples
•               or have a great idea for a fun game

Troy Clayton with Geranios in Old Town has again generously
offered to donate the main dish - (chicken and bratwurst sandwiches) YUM!
And like years past, we are asking families with last names starting with

• A-J - Bring Dessert
• K-Z - bring a side dish (i.e., salad, chips).
   
  To those wonderful moms, dads, and teenagers who helped out last year and would like to take on the same events - or take charge of a new game or activity - a big THANK YOU!!!
