WTTG FOX 5 interviewed Dr. Howard and the WMES Student Council Association on January 25 th regarding donations collected for the people of Haiti! Way to go WMES SCA!!!! Money collected will be sent through the Salvation Army.
The PTA has purchased our own office supplies (tape, Sharpie markers, scissors, etc.) for our use using our Staples Rewards money. Please continue to bring in your ink cartridges to the school lobby and the PTA will receive $3 for each!!
Also, Capri Sun (and other juice pouches) are being accepted in the cafeteria for recycling - please bring them in - we will receive $.02 for each juice pouch!
Box Top Contest going on now - please send in those Box Tops - the school received $325 just before the holidays thanks to everyone who sent them in! Keep them coming!
Reminders for January/February:
January 29 & February 1 - no school - Teacher Work Days
February 2 and 3 during lunch – Flowergrams - will be sold. Students will have an opportunity to by a carnation for a friend or teacher for only .50 – the Carnations will be delivered to each homeroom on February 12.
• Parents: If you would like to send a Flowergram to your child – please send in payment (.50) along with:
• Students name, Teacher/Grade and from who - and a member of the PTA will fill out your Flowergram.
February 11 - Roy Rogers Night - raffle prizes and free child's ice cream with flyer
February 15 - no school - President's Day
February 16 - PTA Meeting - 7 PM Libruary - childcare provided and door prizes!
February 18 - Italian Night – Save the Date – admission is free but PTA NEEDS MAIN DISHES DONATED!!! 3 rd & 4 th graders perform and will open for the Mount Vernon Madrigals beginning at 7 PM!
