First Grade

Here in First Grade at Waples Mill, we focus on language arts instruction most importantly. We teach to each individual learner to give them the support they need to become successful readers and writers. We learn many different ways to add and subtract. We also learn about nature through our science unit. We explore leaves, trees, seasons, clouds, worms and more. We also look at Famous Americans and symbols as well as learning the important qualities of being good citizens. Finally we learn how to keep ourselves healthy.
