Traumatizing Earthquakes

By Tyler, Michael, and Jarod

Introduction

Hi, my name is Earl.  I study earthquakes and plate-tectonics.  Now that I have told a little about myself let's go on a journey through the devastating Ring of Fire where most earthquakes take place.  C'mon let's go!

Task

You are going to go to some places in the Ring of Fire.  There you will learn about earthquakes and what to do in one.  Remember to have fun!

Process

  1. Go to some of these Ring of Fire links to learn about earthquakes and plate-tectonics:

Earthquakes

Fault Motion

FEMA

Elastic Rebound

2.  You and Earl go into 7-11 for a Slurpee.  You hear that an earthquake is coming your way.  Earl passes out.  You have to take Earl and yourself to safety by taking and passing these tests.  Good luck!

Test 1 Click on "test 1" for an earthquake quiz

Test 2 Click on "test 2" then click on Earthquake Disaster Math in the menu bar.  Click on the back arrow in internet explorer to get back to this page.

Evaluation

You will be graded in letters A, B, C, D, and F. If you get a D or an F, you will have to go back and take the test again.  If you get an A, B, or C then you will save Earl from the earthquake.

Conclusion

Congrats on saving Earl.  You have completed the Webquest! You are now eligible to be a professional seismologist.  THANKS!
