A Medieval Mystery

One day, Brian was reading a book when his best friend, Melinda, ran to his front door and began pounding it as hard as she could.  Brian ran downstairs and opened the door.  "Hi Brian!!" Melinda said.  "I came to tell you that the castle treasury has been robbed!!" "Let me see it." Brian said.  He whistled to his collie, King, and they ran down the street. * King was confused. He was talking to Melinda's poodle, Ginger; when his master had grabbed him and ran off towards some building. "So you see, Ginger, Master seemed real worried about something, but I don't know what.  "said King.

"And...Wait...what's that smell...cinnamon? Ginger, why does it smell like cinnamon?" * Brian sniffed the air.  "Yep, that's cinnamon all right. Do you think they're connected? The robbery and the cinnamon smell?" "Possibly."

Melinda said. "But for now, let's look for clues." She looked on the ground and picked up a label. It said: gland per. It probably was part of a bigger label, but they couldn't figure it out. Then, Brian took a piece of paper and wrote: England Perfume. "It's a perfume label!!" he said. "That means the thief is the only person in the kingdom who wears cinnamon perfume....the king's royal advisor!!" The following days of Melinda and Brian's lives were awesome!! They had saved the kingdom from a thief. They and their dogs lived happily ever after.
