In a peaceful town of England, lived the Weatherwells (a so called "special" family living happily in the south-west of the town). Now the Weatherwells are not exactly "normal”. In the middle ages, families had at least 6-8 children. But the Weatherwells only had five family members, including the parents. Thomas Weatherwells was the oldest son and the most intelligent if them all. He was an inventor who never succeeded. But Thomas had enough knowledge to pull gears apart and connect them back together. The problem with Thomas was that nobody attempts to be his friend because he always explains things as specific and as long as he possibly can. Having no friends makes him sad and lonely. Other than that, he's a genius.

Let's move on to Annabelle Weatherwells. Of all her other siblings, Annabelle is the youngest. She has a very creative and energetic personality. Annabelle loves to explore the forest and discover new and amazing things. She has a travel journal, with exquisite animals, bugs, and plants that she has discovered. Anyhow, if you were her friend, you would have to be running, leaping, jumping, and hopping, around all day. That’s right, Annabelle was a tomboy.
The more lady like child of the Weatherwells was Annie. She was what you call a spoiled princess. Annie is superbly boastful. She is graceful but her mother has twice of the grace. Elizabeth Weatherwells is the mother of all three Weatherwells children. She dreams of being rich, but married a poor blacksmith instead. She loves her children but not as much as being rich. There is a dark side to Elizabeth, but she only shows her good side. A kind hearted fellow and husband to Elizabeth is Robert. He works as a blacksmith and tries super hard to keep his family happy. He is a fellow with brad shoulder and mostly thinks of others instead of himself.

On a peaceful morning Thomas Weatherwells stood in the town center boldly with shoulders hunched, back straight then yelled,” Everybody here!“ Drops of sweat rolled down his dace upon the morning sun. "I have the answers to all your problems! I have found this book underground by our Cathedral. It is a book about light, and I predict it should help me with an invention I shall make. Movable light!"
"But you've always failed to make an invention!" Somebody from the crowd yelled.
"Yeah!" another voice roared back. Thomas fell silent while the crowd boomed insult after insult at him. He held his hand up for silence. " Please. I know I will succeed this time. I just know it!.” Thomas jumped off the town fountain, and walked slowly home.
While in the woods, not too far from the town, Annabelle was relaxed on a grassy meadow with butterflies parading around her. She had her journal tucked tightly in her vintage jacket. The sun was beginning to set, bright orange. Time to go, Annabelle thought. She walked gently through the grass. Sss... Annabelle gasped. "Ow!" She shrieked, and then fell to the ground. A snake slithered away. "Oh no!" she gasped again. Yes, it was true, Annabelle had been bitten by a snake, a poisonous snake.
Back home, Thomas had his own problems. Thomas had always been able to pull things apart and put it back together again. But, when he was working on his next door neighbor’s carriage, he spent hours after hours trying to find a way to put the carriage back the way it was again. When their neighbor, Mr. Scoutis, saw what had happened to his carriage he scolded Thomas for what he had done. And worse, he was going to make Thomas pay for the whole entire carriage if he couldn't fix it by next month.
Thomas ran as quickly as he could home. Reading always cheered Thomas up.
When he got home he plopped onto his bed, and started to read his book of
lights. "Oh no!" Thomas yelled. The book he was reading wasn't about lights
at all, but it was about "fights.” That book was about the wars in the past.
He was worried because he told the entire town about his future invention,
which would not be accurate because Thomas did not have the right book to do
his invention. He had lied to the town.

Back in the forest, Annabelle was crawling on the grass trying to get home. Instead of going home, she decided to go to one of her friend's house for a while. Anastasia was one of her best friends. She had a mother who was a doctor. Anastasia’s mother Margret, checked Annabell's pulse, then sighed heavily. "You are indeed poisoned; there is a chance that you could die in a month." |
"Die? Well please don't let my parents know for now. Just say I'm sick and
have a fever, and no doctors are allowed to see me. Will that be okay?"
Annabelle’s voice was weak but she still had some energy in her. "Okay Annabelle, if you want", Margret said sadly.
The
next day, when Annabelle got home, she had almost all of her energy sucked
out of her. She couldn't talk, let alone move. "I am here to teach you the
lady-like activities," Annie, Annabelle’s older sister said. Annie is just
the opposite of Annabelle, and more like her mother. "No, I don't want to," Annabelle sneered weakly.
"Well hey!
You should be happy that I am willing to even help you
on lady-like manners. Now let’s start with smiling." All that morning,
Annabelle was annoyed by Annie's un-needy lessons that went on for nearly a
week. Annabelle had failed her lady-like test, which didn't matter a single
bit to her.
At that very moment, Dr Margret Smiths came for a visit. "How's it going? Have you told them? If you did, what reaction did they give you? I guess you didn't because I haven't seen any action of sorrow or grief. When are you going to tell them then? Now? Later? You really should tell them. Want me to tell them for you? Or do you want to tell them yourself? Well, I guess I shouldn't ask too much, since you’re so sick." Along the hallways, Elizabeth Weatherwells had a bowl of potato soup made by her own hands. Elizabeth has never made any meals before. Robert was the one who had done it all. But because of her dear Annabelle, she didn't care if she stained her hands, and got them dirty. "So take care dear, you've got to tell your family about your poisoning. You should spend more time with your family before you, well, um, pass away."

| There was a loud crash of something shattering with the spill of liquid and a rough thud of somebody or something falling to the ground. Dr. Smiths gasped when she saw what had happened. Robert appeared five seconds later, then lifted his wife up and brought her to the bedroom. |
When Elizabeth woke up and regained her strength, she asked slowly in a shaky voice, “Margret, is it true th-th-that Annabelle’s going to-to d-d-die?" The rest of the family gasped in astonishment. |
"Yes, it possibly can happen but it can also not happen. She has three more weeks before we can know if you'll live or not." There was a knock at the door, a loud one. |
"Hey! Thomas said that he would have your invention of movable light in one week!" Louder knocks thundered through the door. |
"What?! Another invention? Thomas, and the time you told the whole town?!" Robert yelled in shock.
"I'm, I'm sorry father! I, I was sure that I could make an invention. And, and-" |
"No more explaining son, I shall tell the town the truth." And with that, he strolled out and stood out boldly to the crowd. "People of London! My son did not succeed in his invention. Please do forgive him. I will take the punishment, whatever the consequences are." The crowd fell silent, no one moved a muscle. |
A man in a white tunic stepped up to say,” We’ll let you go this time, but if you do that again, don't count on us, letting you off without a punishment. One by one, the town's people started to walk home, disappointed in what had happened. |
"That was a relief.” Robert said. When Robert was inside the house, and when he turned around after he had closed the door, Thomas hugged his father liked he'd ever hugged anybody before, ever. "Thanks father."
******* Three more weeks past by, then it was that day to see if Annabelle's death was true. It seemed to be true because Annabelle was ultra pale, and had no energy to do anything. That night, Elizabeth served Annabelle veggie soup, which was quite difficult to eat by Annabelle . When she finished, her family had cuddled around her for the night. Thomas, Robert, Elizabeth, and even Annie slept with Annabelle
By morning, Annabelle was all pale white and no breath was in her. She had past away. Elizabeth and Annie were crying on Annabelle’s bed while Robert and Thomas were making breakfast. One cold finger moved slowly up to touch Elizabeth, in a voice so strong but calm called ,"Mother." Elizabeth gasped, "Annabelle! She's alive! Annie! Thomas! Robert! Annabelle’s alive!" Elizabeth had never loved anyone ever so much, now, she really does know that she loves her family, more than money. Family mattered to all the Weatherwells, Thomas, Annabelle, Annie, Elizabeth, and Robert all knew deep in their hearts, what really did matter to them.
