Introduction

Students in Fairfax Co., VA study the history and culture of American Indian tribes from three different regions of the United States, with an emphasis on the Powhatan, Sioux, and Pueblo Indians.   They learn about basic needs, resources, and the different environments by comparing each region's geography, climate, and natural resources. 

 

Task

Your task is to work with a partner, using social studies trade books and the Internet to learn about your assigned tribe.

Process

  • Record the information you gather in your research journal.
  • Organize the information by creating a Kidspiration web and importing graphics that illustrate each topic.  You may use graphics from the Graphics Bank, the Kidspiration gallery, or the Internet.  Click here to go to the Graphics Bank.
  • Using your web, write three to five paragraphs explaining what you have learned.
