Fifth Grade WebQuest Project

2007-2008

Wakefield Forest ES

In September 2007 our fifth grade students began work on an exciting project that has ultimately required almost seven months of study and preparation.  Guided by our librarian, Mrs. M., our writing resource teacher, Mrs. Hickman, and their teachers, students worked in small groups to become "experts" on a science topic from their SOL studies.  They spent three months searching both print and online resources, taking notes, and incorporating what they have learned into interesting learning scenarios for other students.  Following that, they learned all of the skills necessary to create web pages.

Using their new expertise, they created WebQuests that will help other students have fun learning about numerous different science  topics.  Click on the titles below to share in some fascinating learning.
