use expectations and their overall use of technology (as documented
in the “Acceptance of Responsibility and Device Use Agreement”
and FCPS regulations referenced therein).

Procedure for Personally-Owned Computing/Network Device Approval
1. The FCPS Personally-Owned
Computing/Network Device Permission Form is required before any
student’s personally-owned device may brought into school. The
permission form may be found by clicking on the link above.
2. Student returns completed and signed form to their homeroom teacher.
3. Forms will be submitted to the VRES principal, Laraine Edwards,
for approval. Once the device is approved, the hardware address for
that device will be registered into an FCPS database. Each approved
device will receive a small sticker indicating FCPS approval. These
stickers cannot be removed and attached to a different device. No
device should be powered on that does not have an FCPS approved sticker.
4.
Registration of the device does not grant permission for the device
to be used at school. The classroom teacher allows/disallows the use
of these devices and they may only be used for instructional purposes.
