What's happening at Virginia Run? The days are warmer and longer, and spring has finally arrived in Northern Virginia! Students and staff alike have participated in and enjoyed various traditional spring activities at VRES.Our fifth graders took part in the annual brass rubbings activity, designed to supplement the social studies curriculum. The VRES vs. Cub Run staff volleyball game, a yearly fundraiser for the PTA, was met with a great deal of enthusiasm, as always. And Science Quest, which coincided with Family Night at the Spring Book Fair, provided students and their families with the opportunity to explore hands-on science experiments. This year's theme for Science Quest was Earth Happenings. A wide variety of hands-on activities and experiments was provided for participants, including volcanoes, plants, weather, and recycling. The evening proved to be a memorable one for all.
