What is it?

School-Age Child Care (SACC) is a Fairfax County Office for Children program for children attending elementary school. The program accommodates families in which all adults in the home are working, attending school, or medically unable to care for their children. The program provides professional care for children attending kindergarten through sixth grade, and is offered in most elementary schools. Fees are based on gross household income.

SACC operates school year, summer, winter and spring programs.

School Year

• Before School - operates from 7:15am until the time school starts
• After Kindergarten - operates from the end of morning kindergarten until the end of the school day. Kindergarten children needing care after the regular school day ends must register for both After Kindergarten and After School sessions.
• After School - operates from the end of the school day until 6:15pm.
  

Summer - weekly sessions are offered at consolidated sites throughout the County. Hours are 7:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Winter and Spring Holidays - four or five day programs are offered at consolidated sites throughout the county. Hours are 7:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Call SACC Registration at 703-449-8989 to enroll.
