About Our Library
Timber Lane Elementary School Library serves the entire school population -- preschool through sixth grade -- and teaching staff. The media program strives to provide all members of the school community with a wide variety of materials and resources that support the curriculum of the school and expand the learning environment for all students. Our print collection reflects our multi-cultural population by having books in several languages and representing the folklore, personalities, customs, and countries of the world. In the library, our students listen to stories, check-out books, do research, and learn how to be effective users of information.
The ability to locate information is essential to lifelong learning. Our library has both print and non-print sources available for research. Twelve computer workstations are connected to the Internet and the school library catalog. At Timber Lane Library, we hope all our students will enjoy reading and accessing new information. Every student visits the library at least once a week. An average of 1000 books are checked out weekly.
