ESOL is the acronym for "English for Speakers of Other Languages." At Timber Lane, the ESOL team works in grade levels 1-6. Our mission is to teach English to students. We primarily use two models, depending upon the needs of the students. We work within the classrooms during the Language Arts block of time. This is referred to as inclusion. There are also times when students are pulled out of the regular classroom due to specific needs. We focus on reading, writing, oral, and listening skills.
We also assist in social studies and science in various grade levels. Our goal is to assist ESOL students to be successful in the regular classroom environment.
