Principal's Message

Welcome to Timber Lane Elementary School

Timber Lane celebrated its 50th year of educating children in 2005. During this time it grew from a small neighborhood school to one that has opened its doors to over 500 students who represent more than 50 countries across the globe.

We are proud that Timber Lane was the county's first school with a modified school calendar beginning in 1998. This is our eighth year and we are now joined by six other elementary schools in the county. Our modified calendar enables our students to have the option of attending up to 30 more days of school each year. This cycle of continuous learning provides more instructional time with scheduled breaks, thus helping students to retain more information and make greater gains in their academic achievement.

One of the school's greatest assets is its staff. Timber Lane faculty members are devoted to being a professional learning community. Classroom teachers team with specialists and resource teachers to ensure that each student is able to learn at an appropriate pace in an appropriate manner. Teaching teams meet and constantly seek ways to help those students who have initially not learned material presented. They are just as concerned about providing for students who have already demonstrated proficiency in an area. Students are provided with enrichment opportunities to extend their learning during both the regular calendar school year and also during our intersession times.

At Timber Lane, we value leadership and citizenship. Students are reminded daily of the importance of respecting others and of taking responsibility for themselves. Our school wide Appropriate Behavior Code (ABC) helps us maintain a positive and nurturing learning environment for our students.

Each year our staff discusses what is important to us as educators, learners, and citizens. Our belief system is strong. I want to share that with you. Click here to see our beliefs.

This web site provides an overview of the many exciting learning opportunities at Timber Lane. I also invite you to learn more about us by visiting the school or calling with questions. We do hope you will join us here at the school for continuous learning!
