Fifth Grade Global Awareness and Technology Project
We are very excited to announce that our school has been invited to participate in the fifth grade Global Awareness and Technology Project.
This project addresses our school board's new Student Achievement Goals 1.4 and 1.5. Goal 1.4 states that students will understand the interrelationship and interdependence of the countries and cultures of the world. Goal 1.5 states students will effectively use technology to access, communicate, and apply knowledge and to foster creativity.
The project is a year long research process that explores the interdependence of countries and cultures throughout history. The goal of this project is to further each student's knowledge and understanding of their place in a global society, the interdependence of counties and cultures, the importance of sound research, and the application of technology for both learning and communication.
Throughout the year as students learn about different cultures in world history, we will be introducing different technology applications and information resources. Students will be gathering data about the cultures they are learning and will use this information to create projects that incorporate technology and an understanding of the culture.
