The Spelling Bee was really nerve-wracking. My words were gauche, admiral, verboten, indulgence, and mystique. The word I messed up on was gauche. I messed up on it because I didn't ask for any definition. I spelled gauche, G-O-C-H.
Everyone got a bag filled with stuff like gift cards and pencils. Mrs. Stanmyre and Mrs. Sciaroni gave me some flowers and congratulated me afterwards.
The winner of the Bee was runner-up last year. We were on stage in a huge auditorium, and a lot of people were in the audience. There were about 55 other spellers in the Bee. I was number 51. I had a great time, I learned a lot, and I look forward to doing it again next year. Terraset has the best coaches in the county: Mrs. Stanmyre, Mrs. Sciaroni, and Mr. Logan!
