Sixth Grade Goes Digital in Geometry
| Myles G. |

The sixth grade was tasked with finding geometric figures in real life as a culminating activity for their geometry unit. Instead of completing a traditional poster board project, Mrs. Damon and Mr. Bland wanted to try something a little different. The students used digital photographs and a computer program called Pixie to show their understanding. Students could either take their own photos around the school and home, or use the photos already provided in Pixie. The students who took their own photos had to learn how to download the photos to the computer and then import them into the Pixie program. |
Their task was to find and draw at least 20 of their 32 geometric terms. Then they had to create a slide show from their pictures. Some students even figured out how to add music to their project.
