On February 19, 2009, Terraset third graders were given a special gift. The Rotary Club of Reston participated in the The Dictionary Project in which each third grader receives an English dictionary and a Webster’s Spanish-English dictionary.

Many other Rotary Clubs also sponsor The Dictionary Project which is focused on providing dictionaries to third graders to help improve literacy. The local club picks up the cost as a community service.

The members of Interact, a Rotary-sponsored activity at South Lakes High School, were invited to help do the dictionaries presentation. The students from South Lakes were all former Terraset students.
