Families Welcoming Families
The Parent Ambassador Program was created to help new families feel welcome in our school and to show them how to get involved in the Spring Hill School community. Because of the large number of new students each year and the transience of the geographical area, it can take a lot of energy and self-motivation to find a way to get involved! The Parent Ambassador Program is here to help.
We are constantly striving to build a safe and friendly atmosphere in the school community both in and outside the building as we promote core character values. The sense of welcome and acceptance of all students and their families helps to further the school's goal of a respectful, caring, and cooperative community.
The Parent Ambassador Program comes under the joint oversight of both the school's Counselors Program and the Parent Teacher Organization. At least one Parent Ambassador always serves on the PTO Board and attends all the monthly meetings. When new students are enrolled, the school office notifies the Counselors counselors who contact the appropriate Foreign Language or Neighborhood Ambassador representative. The Parent Ambassador then contacts the new family directly. " New Student Packets" describe the program and are available from the Counselors department. Please see our student ambassador program for resources for new students.
In addition, the school organizes orientation programs for new families . Every August the Parent Ambassador Chairs and the Counselors Department co-sponsor New Family Orientation. The new families are greeted by Spring Hill Elementary School leadership and receive a small group tour given by our student ambassadors. In addition, the parent ambassadors and Counselors department cosponsor monthly new family coffees. The parent ambassador chairs are listed in the school directory.
Spring Hill also recognizes the need for Foreign Language Ambassadors, who are parent volunteers who reach out to new families with language or cultural barriers . The language ambassadors are listed in your school directory. The list of current predominant languages are listed below:
Spanish
