The purpose of Junior Math Team is
to bring together students from preIBAlgebra 2, Algebra 2 preIB geometry or geometry who enjoy math. |
| What are the officer positions and names? |
We do have officer positions but none are filled
at this time. Most students who come squeeze their participation in around other responsibilities (sports, drama, band, etc.). When attendance was high two years ago, we had a president, vice-president, secretary, publicity chair. |
| What are the meeting dates? (when during
the month, how often) |
We meet on Thursdays about twice a month. Our next contest is March 9. |
| What is a typical meeting like? |
We practice interesting math problems that are
different from what we usually work on in our math classes. One day a month we compete against other schools. Our school score is the sum of the top ten student scores from the "contest" of 6 questions. We also have refreshments. Most students spend about 40 minutes here. |
