Biographical Information:

 Mrs. Lapthorn grew up in Columbus, Ohio.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Science Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  She was a founding member of the Miami University Women’s Rugby team in 1997.  She taught high school science for 6 years at Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.  During that time she was the school’s site coordinator for High Schools That Work and the Student Council Advisor. 

She received a Masters of Arts in School Counseling at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She and her family moved to Northern VA in the fall of 2005 and she took the position as South Lakes’ Assessment Coach – a new position in the county in 2005.

In her free time she enjoys sporting events (Go Buckeyes!), spending time with family and friends, and taking pictures.  She and her husband Bill welcomed their first child Darrin in October of 2006.
