Mission

Our staff, supported by the PTA, families, and volunteers, will educate all students to become informed and responsible citizens. The core of the educational program will provide each student skills in reading, writing, mathematics, problem-solving, speaking, social studies, science, intra and interpersonal interactions, physical fitness, heath, technology, music and art.

Realizing that children learn at different rates and have different learning styles and interests, we will employ a variety of instructional methods, strategies, groupings, learning environments, and curriculum materials to ensure that students receive optimum opportunity to access and master the curriculum goals. All students will be involved in an academically challenging curriculum delivered in a safe learning environment which encourages confidence in each child Shrevewood staff will provide opportunities for students to develop an understanding and appreciation of diversity within an Inclusive school environment.

Philosophy

School is for children. School should be a place where children feel accepted, cared for, and respected. Within a school the needs of children come first, and all decisions must be based on what is best for the child. The environment should invite students to participate and to learn. Parents, teachers, administration and community must work together as partners in order to ensure that school is such a place. In an environment such as this, all students are expected to learn, and do learn. All children will have an opportunity to develop the unique talents and gifts they possess and in this setting, no child will be left behind.
