Student Support
The Fairfax County Department of Student Services provides comprehensive and sequential services to students in grades 7-12. The primary goal of the Student Services program is to promote the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of all students. Counselors help build a foundation for learning by assisting students to develop self-respect, awarness of others, and positive attitudes toward acquiring knowledge.
School Counselors provide:
- Individual and group counseling
- Educational and career planning
- Consultation with parents and staff
- Informational programs and activities
- Identification and support of students with special needs
- Crisis intervention/problem solving
- Referrals to community agencies
