Winter Break Reading Challenge

Rolling Valley is excited about reading and is offering a fun Winter Break Reading Challenge for all students this year!  K-3 students are encouraged to read each day over break by choosing 10 different marshmallow reading challenge activities from a marshmallow chart and attaching those marshmallows to a paper mug.  4-6 students are encouraged to read each day over break and to fill out a postcard for at least 3 of the times they read. Click on the documents below to read more about this exciting challenge.  Happy Reading!

Rolling Valley Bell Schedule

Monday - Friday: 8:55-3:45

Students will be dismissed from buses and the cafeteria at 8:55. Students may arrive to the cafeteria at 8:45. Breakfast will run from 8:45-8:55. Kiss and Ride will open at 8:45 and close at 8:55. Students are tardy at 9:06. Announcements will begin at 9:06.

As outlined by FCPS Regulation 1367.2, school principals shall offer options to nonprofit organizations that want to make their materials available to students and parents.  At Rolling Valley during the 14-15 school year, non-profit organizations will be permitted to send home flyers in the take home folder 3 times during the year. The dates for the 2014-2015 school year are September 12th, December 19th and June 12th. These fliers must be related to the schools’ educational mission and be age-appropriate. Community organizations must submit their materials in advance to the school’s principal and must include the disclaimer “These materials are neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Fairfax County School Board, the Superintendent, or this School”.  Once approved, the organization will be required to make the copies necessary for distribution.  Any questions can be directed to Maureen Boland, Rolling Valley Principal, at mboland@fcps.edu.
