Summer School All information about summer school is available online at http://www.fcps.edu/news/summer.htm, and counselors have available information on the classroom and online offerings. FCPS will be offering summer school for 8th graders (rising 9th grade) who want to accelerate their credit courses. Chantilly HS Summer Seminar Chantilly HS is offering a Pre-AP Summer Seminar July 7-11 from 8:00 to 12:00 for rising freshmen who are enrolled in English Pre-AP 9, World Civ, or Pre-AP World Studies I. Students will work with Pre-AP teachers to learn research techniques, reading strategies, and note-taking skills to better prepare them for the rigors of freshman year. There is no tuition, but students will need to provide their own copies of two required books. Please contact Eric Richardson at eric.richardson@fcps.edu for further information. Shifting Gears A summer course focused on middle school preparation for rising 7th graders. There are 3 sessions available, but sign up early. Spaces fill up quickly! Registration due June 13, 2008. View pdf file for registration form and details.
Institute for the Arts - July 7 - 31, 2008 Fairfax County Summer Enrichment Opportunities

Fairfax Collegiate Summer 2008 The Fairfax Collegiate Summer Program is a summer enrichment program instructed by university professors and public and private school teachers. Classes are offered at three area locations in mathematics, writing, test preparation, programming, computer literacy, web design, robotics, digital arts, and life skills. For more information, registration forms, and fees, please see a RRMS counselor. Deadline for registration is June 1st.
2008 Summer Enrichment Program in Mathematics and Technology for Talented Youth (MTTY) The purpose of the MTTY program is to offer non-credit enrichment courses in mathematics and computer sciences for students entering the 6th through 12th grades. The courses are designed to provide an accelerated learning environment in a college atmosphere for high-potential students. Tech Adventure Camp Technology and careers come alive as students experience new worlds at camp while they rotate through six units: Design in Mind, Focus on Forensics, Inside A Virtual Life, It’s a 3D World, Kid’s Chef, and Robotic Engineer Camp runs July 7 - July 18, 2007 from 9am - 3pm.
