Sample IB Schedule

All IB students must meet the Fairfax County Public Schools and state of Virginia requirements for graduation. A student's four year plan at Robinson Secondary School might look as follows.

8th Grade:
Program should include Algebra I and French I, German I, Spanish I or Latin I.

9th Grade:

  • Honors English 9
  • Honors World History and Geography
  • Geometry or PreIB Geometry
  • Honors Biology
  • Foreign Language 2 (French, German, Spanish, Latin)
  • Health / P.E.
  • Elective
10th Grade:
  • Honors English 10
  • Honors Government/AP Government
  • Honors Algebra II-Trig
  • IB Chemistry I or IB Physics I
  • Foreign Language 3
  • Health / P.E.
  • Elective

11th Grade:

  • IB English I IB History of the Americas
  • IB Math Studies, IB Math Methods I/Pre-Calculus, IB Higher Level Math
  • IB Chemistry, IB Biology, IB Physics
  • IB Foreign Language I
  • Theory of Knowledge
  • Elective (possibly an IB elective)

12th Grade:

  • IB English II
  • IB Topics in 20th Century World History
  • IB Math Methods II, or IB Higher Level Math I and II (note two math courses at HL)
  • IB Chemistry, IB Physics, IB Biology, IB Environmental Systems
  • IB Foreign Language II
  • IB Elective
  • Elective
