Mission Statement
In order to achieve the above, the counseling and guidance staff will:

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the school community to develop academic programs based on student need
  • Present guidance activities to address skills necessary for academic success and requirements for promotion and high school graduation
  • Monitor academic progress of students through data analysis, student conferences, parent conferences, teacher consultations, and team meetings
  • Present career development activities to help students identify personal skills, preferences, and interests that influence career choices and success
  • Through career activities, help students develop an understanding of the relationship between educational achievement and career opportunities
  • Provide social/emotional support by conducting individual and group programs based on student and parent need, training students in conflict resolution and conflict mediation skills, providing information on adolescent development and parenting skills, consulting with teachers and other community resources

Vision Statement

As we help our students in their journey toward independence, we believe in

  • The creation of a family of learners maintained by a strong home/school relationship
  • The creation of a school/community family which challenges each child to reach his/her potential in an atmosphere of encouragement
  • The creation of a school/community family which promotes and models respect for self and others
