Message from the Principal |
|
Dear Parents,
As we come near the close of the 2009-2010 school year, I just want to
take the opportunity to say thank you to our parent community. The
support, involvement, and volunteerism that parents demonstrate are
beyond comparison. Being redesignated as a “School to Watch” by
the Virginia Board of Education this year could not have been realized
without the collaboration between our educators and parents. The strength
of our parent community is a constant thread to the fabric of our school.
You have provided so much support, expertise, hard work, and encouragement.
Our PTA has been an organization that has continuously been involved
in our school programs and initiatives. No matter how large or small
the need, the PTA has rallied its forces to get the job done. As PTA
president for two consecutive years, Chris Clark has been instrumental
in making sure our parent community is active and involved in assisting
us in realizing our dreams. Her leadership and dedication to this school
over these past years have been remarkable. Such dedication to a volunteer
position is admirable and sets a model for all of us to emulate.
We were very proud of our students for the serious and mature way they
approached the SOL testing. Both the eighth graders and the seventh graders
realized the importance of the testing, and we had an excellent testing
environment. Our teachers and students have worked diligently throughout
the year to prepare for the testing, and we are confident the students
did their best.
As we bring this year to a close, I would like to thank each of you
for the many ways you have enriched our school. It is such a pleasure
and an honor to work with you and your children. May you all have a
delightful summer filled with opportunities for rest, relaxation, and
the building of special memories. On behalf of the staff, I wish a
fond farewell to our eighth grade students and families. You will always
have a very special place in our hearts.
Best wishes to you all,
Augie Frattali
