7th Grade / 8th Grade

A Message from Mr. Brown & A Message from Ms. Ballou

We are quickly approaching the end of another memorable school year at Rachel Carson Middle School. Students, take some time to look back at some of this year’s wonderful and challenging experiences. Growth is a result of learning from your successes and challenges, as well as the experiences of others, so reflect, examine, think about, and learn from this journey we have shared with one another this year.

Some students will be returning to Rachel Carson for their 8th grade year, while others are preparing for their transition to high school. We would like to thank the RCMS students for their dedication to academics and their willingness to get involved in school activities. As parents, teachers and other staff members, we have worked together diligently to provide activities and experiences that help build character and academic strength and prepare our students for the exciting challenges ahead. We believe that the students are prepared for the many new experiences, challenges, and opportunities awaiting them in 8th grade and in high school.

To the classes of 2014 and 2015, we wish you only success and happiness. Thank you for being such an important part of our Rachel Carson family. May all of your hopes and dreams become reality as you continue to explore life’s infinite possibilities, and may you continue to discover, as Rachel Carson herself wished, “the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in.”

Sincerely,
Shawn Brown and Tamara Ballou
