Student Personal Devices

Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, students will be permitted to bring his/her own electronic devices to school for use to support instruction. Use of student-owned devices is restricted to instructional activities under the direct supervision of a staff member. Students using privately owned electronic devices must follow the policy stated in the AUP while on school property, attending school-sponsored activities, or using the FCPS network.

A permission form will need to be filled out and devices approved throughout the school year. If you are interested in having your child bring in his/her electronic device, please review this
permission form with your child.

Students should sign up and turn in the permission slip PRIOR to the registration date outside of A211. Registration for personal devices will be during LS as follows:

Registration Dates in A211 (during LS)
MONDAYS in February
Feb 6th, 13th and 27th

Please check back for more details regarding future registration dates.

***New Change in Location for Registrations
Mrs. Kirkpatrick will register devices in room A211. This is in the upstairs A Pod. Please come by her office to register your device during your LS.

Support our Carson Courtyard Garden Project

BOX TOPS will assist us in funding our Carson Garden project. We plant and grow fresh herbs and vegetables. There is a collection box in the front office. We appreciate your support!!!

8th Grade Online Writing SOL Practice
RCMS eighth graders will pilot the online writing assessment February 15th - 22nd. To access the training site click on the TestNav image above. Students can practice on this site, as they wish, prior to testing. Teachers will be instructing all students on the online tools of TestNav in class this month. When practicing, students will need to have a prompt to write about, as one is not provided on the TestNav site.
