Academics
The students at Quander Road School adhere to a rigorous program of studies prescribed by Fairfax County Public Schools. All students take classes in the four core subject areas: Math, Science, English, and Social Studies and must pass End of Course (SOL) exams in some of these areas to receive a verified credit for graduation. Additionally, Quander students benefit from various elective classes that provide them with additional life skills and an outlet to express their talents and beliefs. The following is a list of departments and classes offered to students:
English: English 9-12 Reading
Math: Algebra I and II, Geometry, Individual Math , Personal and Finacial Math
Science: Biology, Geosystems, ActivePhysics
Social Studies: World History I and II, US/VA History, and US/VA Gov't
Art: Art I, II, III
Family and Consumer Science: International Foods and Gourmet Foods
ELECTIVES: Music, Theatre, Desgin & Tech
Personal Development
Physical Education: Health and PE 9 & 10 and Personal Fitness
Transition Education: Work Awareness and Transition and Education for Employment
*Academy and Mainstream Courses: Design and Tech, Child Development and Parenting, Criminal Justice, TV Production, Animal Science, JROT, Landscaping, Auto Tech etc.
